Haylynn Conrad

Malibu mother of two. Equestrienne. Surfer and tube rider. ”A good sort” as the Australians say. Haylynn Cohen was a goth skater chick growing up in Coney Island and figured she’d be there all her life - or if she got lucky, get married and move to Jersey or Lawn Gisland.

But she got luckier than that, and a chance meeting in Manhattan while skipping school at 15 saw her fall into a modeling career that lasted for 16 years.

Many twists and turns later, she is now in Malibu, happily married and wanting to do some good for the City of Malibu and it’s alchemy of citizens high and low.

Haylynn ran for the Malibu City Council as an outsider from August to November of 2024.

Her motto of “Returning civility to civics” proved to be a bit of a pipedream in a race that had a fair bit of ugly along with the good and the bad.

Haylynn surprised everyone - including herself - when she placed third in the voiting behind incumbents Bruce Silverstein and Steve Uhring.

She is now the swing vote on a five-person city council that holds the future of Malibu in its hands.

Haylynn created this website to communicate Malibu to the world and to communicate with the people of Malibu - to air their thoughts on the good, the bad and the ugly of the 21 Mile Miracle.
